Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Teaching Assistant to provide direct instructional services to students under the supervision of a certified teacher. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of child development, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional services to students, supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth
• Work closely with certified teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans
• Assist with classroom management, behavior support, and student supervision
• Support students with daily living activities, such as feeding, lifting, toileting, and hygiene
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and achievements
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff
• Participate in school events, trips, and activities
• Assist with implementing classroom and school-wide safety plans
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Assume teacher responsibilities in the absence of the classroom teacher or as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Certification as a Teaching Assistant in New York State
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
• Knowledge of child development and learning principles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents
• Physical ability to lift and move students, as required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with students with diverse needs
• Training in crisis intervention and management
• Knowledge of educational software and technology
• Bilingual or multilingual skills
