Evident Change is seeking a detail-oriented, part-time Payroll Specialist to manage payroll for multiple state locations. This role involves maintaining accurate payroll records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and handling garnishments and deductions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll systems and audit procedures.

Requirements

  • Manage accurate and timely payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll-related regulations.
  • Manage garnishments and other payroll deductions.
  • Review payroll transactions for completeness and investigate payroll discrepancies.
  • Reconcile vacation and leave accruals and ensure that leave hours are accurately coded and recorded.
  • Conduct annual workers compensation audit.
  • Calculate and handle payments toward the pension accrual account, flex benefits account, and prepaid accounts.
  • File and maintain payroll records and reports, including payroll journal entries and month-end closing journal activities.
  • Prepare reconciliations between accounting records and payroll records, including Form 941.
