DescriptionAmazon is seeking a PR Specialist to join our Global Corporate Trust & Reputation (GCTR) team. In this role, you will be part of a team that identifies and responds to emerging topics impacting our business and brand. The GCTR team is responsible for reputation management across various Amazon business lines including customer service, operations, workplace, sustainability, community impact, and policy. You will thrive in our fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and demonstrate eagerness to learn from experienced colleagues while contributing your own insights. This role offers diverse challenges that require a collaborative team player ready to roll up their sleeves to deliver results.Key job responsibilitiesResponsibilitiesYou will help manage day-to-day issues by providing PR counsel and responding to media inquiries, while developing your strategic thinking skills. You'll need clear communication abilities to address various scenarios and will be responsible for crafting external statements and responses under guidance. Strong writing skills and the ability to incorporate feedback quickly are essential. Core responsibilities include:

  • Monitor, assess, and help manage multiple concurrent situations with sound judgment
  • Develop clear viewpoints on issues and craft concise narratives to express them
  • Build relationships with local media outlets/reporters to discuss stories, address inaccuracies, and establish rapport
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all communications
  • Represent Amazon with media and external audiences on-camera and in written communication
  • Collaborate effectively across teams
  • Contribute fresh ideas for reaching important audiences
  • Inspect and refine processes to streamline our ways of working
A day in the lifeAs a PR Specialist, you'll primarily handle incoming media inquiries from local U.S.-based outlets and provide PR counsel to site/business leadership with support from senior team members. You'll address diverse issues ranging from customer service concerns to delivery problems to operational site incidents. We seek someone comfortable engaging with reporters to gather information, educate them about our business, and appropriately advocate for Amazon's position to mitigate reputational risk. Willingness to develop skills for potential on-camera or social media representation is valued.About The TeamThe GCTR team is responsible for reputation management across various Amazon business lines including customer service, operations, workplace, sustainability, community impact, and policy.Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
  • Bachelor's degree

The base pay for this position ranges from $51,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $110,500/year in our highest geographic market.
