About the Role
As a Full Stack Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers in designing, developing, and deploying scalable, cloud-based applications that power our streaming services. You will be responsible for:
- Building and managing a high-performing software engineering team, including recruiting, training, and developing team members
- Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define product roadmaps and technical requirements
- Developing and maintaining a strong engineering culture, including promoting best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement
- Overseeing the design and development of cloud-based applications, including microservices, APIs, and data storage solutions
- Ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of our software solutions
- Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software engineering and cloud computing
Key Responsibilities
* Build and manage a high-performing software engineering team, including recruiting, training, and developing team members
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define product roadmaps and technical requirements
- Develop and maintain a strong engineering culture, including promoting best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement
- Oversee the design and development of cloud-based applications, including microservices, APIs, and data storage solutions
- Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of our software solutions
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software engineering and cloud computing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and technical specifications
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and other engineering activities to ensure high-quality software solutions
Essential Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in software engineering management, including leading teams and driving technical initiatives
- 3+ years of experience in software development, including designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based applications
- Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
- Strong technical skills in software engineering, including programming languages, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with containerization, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in software engineering management, including leading teams and driving technical initiatives
- Experience with reactive programming on JVM languages, preferably Java
- Hands-on experience as a service administrator with experience creating and managing identity frameworks
- Hands-on experience managing AWS services with explicit experience using Terraform or other infrastructure as code (IAC) tools
- Hands-on experience expanding on and managing distributed NoSQL data stores like DynamoDB, Cassandra, Scylla, and Couchbase
- Experience working with remote global teams and an adaptable schedule across various time zones
