Structural Engineering Designer/EIT

AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm dedicated to delivering a better world. They are seeking a Structural Engineering/EIT for their Transportation team, responsible for designing transportation infrastructure and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Working within the (Structural) Design group on the design of bridges, retaining walls, an other transportation infrastructure
  • Preparation of reports, construction plans, and technical specifications
  • Collaborating with design teams consisting of multidiscipline design engineers, technicians and planners
  • Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member and assist with tasks including preparing engineering related calculations, drawings, and visual aids
  • Following corporate quality procedures

Skills

  • Must be completing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, Midas, STAAD, RISA3D, and SAP2000)
  • Relevant internship or professional work experience in support of transportation design
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, Microsoft Project, and standard office software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
