Development Associate

California Museum is dedicated to educating people about California’s rich history and diversity. The Development Associate will support the Development Director in implementing the Museum’s membership program and other development functions to advance the Museum’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Development Director in creating and implementing a comprehensive development/membership plan that diversifies revenue sources, increases funds raised, and elevates funder/member engagement to advance the Museum’s mission
  • Assist with the development and implementation of grant proposals, fundraising events, and annual giving campaigns
  • Maintain donor databases (CRMs), track activities, and support donor recognition/stewardship. Create donor invoices, acknowledgement letters, and other communications
  • Assist with donor research and prospect pipeline development
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of membership program including processing memberships, issuing renewal reminders, and producing acknowledgments. Provide exceptional customer service as the primary point of contact for members
  • Support the development and delivery of programming designed to increase member engagement
  • Other duties as required

Skills

  • One year of related professional experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster(s) or an approved exemption
  • Fluency in English required
  • Experience with donor management software a plus
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
