Taxation Business Analyst

Manulife is a leading international financial services provider, and they are seeking a Junior Business Analyst to join their Taxation Operations team. The role involves analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with stakeholders to implement solutions that drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data sets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights for informed business decisions
  • Develop and maintain data reporting tools, dashboards, and visualizations to provide accurate and timely insights to stakeholders
  • Identify areas for process improvement and develop strategies to enhance efficiency
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and address underlying issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and track the progress of improvement projects
  • Develop and maintain documentation for process improvements
  • Ensure that improvement initiatives align with organizational goals
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization
  • Perform internal testing, quality assurance, and other auditing functions to ensure the integrity of department processing and workflow
  • Manage the document and procedure library, ensuring that procedures and job aids are accurate and up to date
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and tracking to ensure timely delivery of solutions

Skills

  • Taxation knowledge
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with SQL, Excel, and other data analysis tools
  • Previous experience in business analysis, data analysis, or a related role is preferred
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
  • Knowledge of life insurance products or tax processes is a plus
