Key Responsibilities

As an Experienced Pharmacy Customer Service Associate, you'll be responsible for:

  • Modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including:

+ Engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services + Resolving customer issues and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience + Recommending items for sale to customers and recommending trade-up and/or companion items + Registering customer purchases on assigned cash register, collecting cash and distributing change as requested + Processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed

  • Assisting our pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including:

+ Using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions + Filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs + Verifying medicine is correct and checking for possible interactions + Assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow

  • Maintaining a clean and well-merchandised store environment, including:

+ Keeping counters and shelves clean and well-merchandised + Taking inventory and maintaining records + Checking in and pricing merchandise as required or as directed by store manager or communicated by the shift leader

  • Performing other duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including:

+ Utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information + Ensuring information is entered correctly + Reporting prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhering to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program + Handling telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians + Processing manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner

  • Assisting with inventory management activities, including:

+ Ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals + Maintaining knowledge of Company asset protection techniques + Filing claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving Rx drugs

  • Ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products, including:

+ Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products

  • Constructing and maintaining displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise
  • Assisting with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies/procedures
  • Providing customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine
  • Assisting with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required

  • PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with cash handling
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience in a pharmacy or retail environment

  • Knowledge of pharmacy systems and procedures
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
