As a Remote Online Grocery Pick‑Up Clerk, you will:• Serve as the bridge between the digital order and the physical shelf, guaranteeing each item meets our strict freshness standards.• Deliver a seamless, friendly experience when customers arrive for curb‑side pickup.• Play a pivotal role in upholding Kroger’s reputation for excellence, reliability, and customer delight.Key ResponsibilitiesOrder Assembly & Quality Assurance• Retrieve online orders from designated staging areas, ensuring every SKU matches the electronic order ticket.• Inspect each product for quality, expiration dates, and visual appeal, rejecting any item that does not meet Kroger standards.• Organize items in a logical, easy‑to‑unload sequence to streamline the final hand‑off to customers.• Scan every item using handheld POS devices, accurately tracking inventory movement.Customer Interaction & Communication• Answer inbound calls on a portable phone/device, providing real‑time updates on order status, substitutions, and pickup instructions.• Communicate any out‑of‑stock situations or product substitutions with professionalism and empathy, offering suitable alternatives.• Ensure the customer’s vehicle is correctly loaded, confirming that all items are placed safely and securely.• Collect payment, process coupons, loyalty discounts, and apply any promotional offers.Operational Excellence & Safety• Maintain cleanliness and organization of staging zones, equipment, and workstations in accordance with safety guidelines.• Report any discrepancies—such as pricing errors, scanning issues, or temperature violations—to the e‑commerce supervisor promptly.• Perform routine equipment checks, notifying management of any malfunctions or repair needs.• Adhere to all local, state, and federal food safety regulations as well as Kroger’s internal policies.Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement• Partner with Order Selectors, Store Associates, and the broader e‑commerce team to ensure smooth workflow.• Participate in regular training sessions, sharing best practices and learning new process enhancements.• Assist in onboarding and mentoring new pick‑up clerks, fostering a supportive, knowledge‑sharing environment.• Consistently meet or exceed productivity benchmarks (orders per hour, accuracy rate, customer satisfaction scores).Essential Qualifications• Self‑Motivation: Ability to work independently without direct supervision, while staying aligned with team goals.• Basic Literacy & Numeracy: Comfortable reading shelf tags, following written directions, and performing simple arithmetic (addition, subtraction, counting).• Communication Skills: Clear, courteous oral and written communication, essential for phone interactions and internal messaging.• Physical Capability: Able to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (up to 30 lb), and navigate store aisles safely.• Reliability: Consistent attendance, punctuality, and adherence to scheduled shifts (day, evening, or flexible).Preferred (But Not Required) Experience• Previous role as a personal shopper, grocery associate, or any position in a production‑oriented or warehouse environment.• Experience handling point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, scanners, or inventory management tools.• Background in customer service, especially in fast‑paced retail or hospitality settings.• Familiarity with e‑commerce platforms, online order fulfillment, or curb‑side pickup models.Core Skills & Competencies for Success• Attention to Detail: Spotting errors, ensuring product freshness, and maintaining order accuracy.• Time Management: Prioritizing tasks to meet peak‑hour demand while preserving quality.• Problem‑Solving: Quickly
