Position Title: Title Agent

Position Summary:

This is a full-time, remote position.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work with Operations Manager and President to ensure that departmental policies and procedures align with company goals.
  • Assist Operations Manager/Attorney for South market in all product lines including land acquisitions and out-sales.
  • Build & maintain relationships by interacting in a professional manner with realtors, lenders, attorneys, underwriters, paralegals, & all other clients.
  • Draft Title commitments and assist with issuing final title policies
  • Review land acquisition contracts and related documents and assist with opening of files as needed
  • Work with parties to ensure all items are completed accurately
  • Assist with organizing data and uploading paperwork as needed
  • Perform title and survey review
  • Respond to customer inquiries requesting status, rate quotes, title defects, clearing exceptions, or general information
  • Ensure all closing instructions and binder requirements are followed as per the closing package, and coordinate with the loan officer, mortgage loan processor, and underwriter to be sure all underwriting commitments have been satisfied
  • Summarize and track key contract information, including critical dates as needed
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and correspondence
  • Research, organize and analyze legal or other pertinent information as needed
  • Ensure policies and remittances to underwriters are done in a timely manner to comply with regulations
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments to maintain customer satisfaction and adhere to regulatory compliance
  • Stay abreast of all changes in regulations, trends, and ALTA best practices
  • Ensure compliance with all title binder requirements
  • Act as a dependable liaison between all parties to ensure the client has a seamless transaction.
  • Prepare and present ad hoc reports on process flow activities to senior management
  • Assist with underwriter audits and ALTA Best Practice audits
  • Assist in other areas of the Company as required

Position Standards:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate both internally and externally to solidify business partnerships and a positive work environment.
  • Must have experience in the following jurisdictions: South Carolina, Georgia, as well as be open to new jurisdictions in which the company may expand in the future
  • Licensed Title Producer – SC & GA, and other markets company requests, including but not limited to NC and WV
  • Knowledge of real estate guidelines, ALTA Best Practices & RESA regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills & the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be proficient with Outlook and Excel spreadsheets. Position requires knowledge of basic computer systems; demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel). Requires demonstrated skill in data entry. Daily use of Qualia & Streamline.
  • Adherence to company safety standards and help promote a safe working environment for both employees & clients.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability
  • Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to help grow the company into new territories and markets as needed.
  • Ability to expeditiously resolve discrepancies as they arise

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Paralegal certification preferred
  • 5+ years of legal experience
  • 5+ years of settlement processing experience
  • 3+ years of management & leadership experience
  • Licensed Title Producer – SC & GA, and other markets company requests, including but not limited to NC and WV
  • Valid Driver’s license
