Job Title: IQA01H- Sr. IT QA Specialist

Leads teams or work that includes various testing methods, processes or tools. This may include manual, batch and/or automated testing and/or environment support to ensure all application/infrastructure changes meet company standards and end user requirements. Effective use of tools to communicate software defects and testing status to development areas, peers and management. Assesses risk associated with new application and software implementation. Represents and promotes QA methodology across IT. Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. Provides assistance to team members with issues needing technical expertise. Provides on the job training for new or less experienced team members. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions; Works independently receives minimal guidance; Frequently inter-organizational and outside customer contacts; Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects; Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects; Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendation would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

Specific job duties

  • Expert knowledge with the ability to design and strategize on testing approaches for large, complex, cross-functional projects and/or projects in support of the QA environments.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate QA efforts, including vendors, in large cross-functional projects and special assignments as needed.
  • Advanced technical knowledge base to perform testing functions on multiple platforms.
  • Identify opportunities and works with others to implement ways to expedite testing, including automation.
  • Application/infrastructure to the business solution.
  • Advanced ability to design, create and/or execute automated scripts.
  • Identify and lead process improvement across the QA organization.
  • Independently estimate and re-estimate projects.
  • Recognize and communicate dependencies in cross-functional testing as well as data to complete estimates.
  • Facilitate discussions Contribute to the funding and forecasting process.
  • Can train and mentor team members on forecasting protocols.
  • Assist with on boarding new team members, coordinating and delivering training to team members.
  • Can develop content and other resources for training.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 5 – 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of software development methodology
  • MS Office skills required
  • Knowledge of automated test tools and/or programming languages
  • Demonstrated advanced technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly and solve problems
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work and guide others during time constraints to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and train teams
