Looking for Chemistry Tutor: Part-Time in Anderson County, SC

Job title: Chemistry Tutor: Part-Time Company: State of South Carolina Job description: Job Responsibilities Tri-County Technical College invites applicants to the role of Chemistry Tutor. Applicants should be confident and proficient in explaining concepts within their field to students. Potential tutors should feel comfortable working one-on-one or online with students. Tutors have the opportunity to become certified through the College Reading and Learning Association. Tutors must be able to work at least 6 hours per week during business hours. Tutoring hours are: Monday through Thursday-8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Fridays-8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Minimum and Additional Requirements Tutor II Minimum Requirements: - Completion of sophomore level coursework in subject that will be tutored with satisfactory grades - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Word processing and basic computer skills - Eagerness to work with a diverse student population - For candidates who have not yet completed a degree, a minimum of one reference must come from an instructor that can speak to your level of academic achievement Tutor III Minimum Requirements: - At least a Bachelor's degree with major or minor emphasis in content area - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Word processing and basic computer skills - Eagerness to work with a diverse student population Preferred Qualifications Tutor II Preferred Requirements: - Extensive experience in content area through advanced degrees or work experience - Experience with tutoring or other peer-assisted learning models - Experience navigating common software in higher education, such as Blackboard or Starfish **Must submit transcripts with application to show satisfactory grades Tutor III Preferred Requirements: - Extensive experience in content area, through advanced degrees or work experience - Experience with tutoring or other peer-assisted learning models - Experience navigating common content management software in higher education, such as Blackboard or Starfish Additional Comments Tri-County Technical College is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
