Cybersecurity Analyst

Kemper is one of the nation’s leading specialized insurers, and they are seeking a highly motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to assist in the review and implementation of cybersecurity initiatives. This role is critical in the Cybersecurity Operations Service group, providing support for defensive security operations and responding to cyber threats.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and respond to cyber threats
  • Gain expertise in several cybersecurity technologies and defensive domains
  • Maintain partnerships with stakeholders and assist with end-to-end Incident Response remediation
  • Monitoring of technical security controls and detection technologies
  • Provide cybersecurity threat recommendations to stakeholders and decision makers
  • Leverage internal and external resources to research threats, vulnerabilities, and intelligence on various attackers and attack infrastructure
  • Be a responsive and helpful engagement point for technology teams during Incident Response activities
  • Assess internal and external networks to define and monitor Kemper’s attack surface

Skills

  • Certifications such as CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, etc
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK Framework
  • Knowledge of technologies such as networking including ports and protocols, operating systems and indicators of compromise, cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, etc
  • Basic knowledge of identity and access methods and technologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively relate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
  • Bachelors degree in an IT or Security field
