Job description: Community Unit School District 200 is seeking an Elementary ESL Teacher to provide pull-out services with emphasis in English as a Second Language.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S):
Current Illinois Elementary Professional Educator License (PEL) with ESL Endorsement/Approval
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to demonstrate competency in organization, flexibility, and cooperativeness
- Related experience with ELL students in a pull-out program
- ACCESS and MODEL certification preferred
- Test entering students for ELL services utilizing the MODEL and WAPT screeners
- Plan and deliver English language development instruction for ELL students
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers to assess the progress of students on a regular basis
- Confer with parents and teachers concerning individual students
- Consult with classroom teachers regarding curriculum differentiation necessary to meet the needs of the English language learner
- Maintain records for direct served and monitored students
- Maintain and improve professional competencies by attending professional development opportunities
- Attend staff meetings at building and district level
