Our team is at the heart of the Application Security organization, building the core technologies that power Akamai's industry-leading security products. We protect some of the world's most critical internet infrastructure and major brands from evolving cyber threats. Working alongside talented engineers, security analysts, and product teams, you'll shape the future of web application security.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for,

  • Developing, testing and shipping high quality, scalable code for different features and functionalities of the project.
  • Cross collaboration with internal teams on design, implementation, quality assurance and documentation
  • Handle production issues, optimize performance and contribute to full-stack problems in versatile teams.
  • Coming up with innovative ways of solving problems and enhancing capabilities of the project.

To be successful in this role you will

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field

  • Have 2+ years of experience in product development in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess excellent problem solving, analytical skills and be good with data structures and algorithms.
  • Possess hands-on experience with any one of programming languages - C++/Go/Java/Python and at least one SQL or NoSQL database.
  • Proficiency in applying SOLID principles, Object Oriented Programming, and Design patterns to build modular, reusable and extensible codebases.
  • Be familiar with the fundamentals of networking and protocols like HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, TCP, DNS, etc.
