The Patient Navigator Supervisor role focuses on supporting the team of Patient Navigators, educating healthcare providers and patients on access, coverage, and reimbursement support. This role will be regionally aligned to best support patients. This position combines exceptional customer service, relationship management, and expertise in reimbursement practices to provide personalized support and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

Support and Mentor team of Patient Navigators Serves as the “go to” subject matter expert internally to support Patient Navigators in assigned region (s) Handles escalated healthcare provider account, patient and/or client field identified issues Acts as a single point of contact for client field reimbursement team leadership and participates in regional meetings as required Submits daily and weekly reports to the Program Manager regarding productivity statistics at both the team and employee level Manages special projects and tasks as assigned by program leadership Coordinate and collaborate with client field teams, following agreed upon business rules and guidelines Submits daily and weekly reports to the Program Manager regarding productivity statistics at both the team and employee level Submits daily and weekly reports to the Program Manager regarding productivity statistics at both the team and employee level Ensure all activities comply with healthcare laws, regulations, and Mercalis standard operating procedures (e.g., HIPAA, insurance guidelines). Participate in team meetings and ongoing training to stay updated on policies and procedures. Utilize Mercalis’ leadership competencies as the driving force behind the team’s success On time adherence to training deadlines for all corporate policies and procedures governing access to confidential data Ensure all SOPs are followed with consistency Conducts miscellaneous tasks or projects as assigned Position is remote with required occasional onsite visits

Qualifications

Minimum five (5) years of Leadership experience Completion of Bachelor's degree (or higher) required. A degree in healthcare administration, social science or similar related fields is strongly preferred. Minimum five (5) years of experience in healthcare access delivery or management is strongly preferred. Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in insurance reimbursement, patient access, direct patient care, and/or patient education experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Other certifications and five (5) or more consecutive years of experience in relevant field could be considered. Certification examples include PACS (Prior Authorization Certified Specialist), CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) or CCM in healthcare or social science (Certified Case Manager). Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and insurance processes. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines. Bilingual / Multilingual is a plus. Physical Demands & Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy. Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Why Work for Valeris?
