Associate Project Manager
Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers, and they are seeking an Associate Project Manager to support electric utility clients within their Power Delivery Services division. The role involves assisting in project performance reviews, managing project costs, schedules, and scope, and coordinating with engineering teams to ensure deliverables are met.
Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing project performance including scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance
- Assist in ensuring project costs, schedule and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits
- Creation and maintenance of client and office resource loaded schedules
- Driving work products by coordinating and working with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables
- Interfacing directly with internal management to report progress, costs, schedule, and risks across a portfolio of distribution projects
- Weekly reporting to Clients on project status
- Work with engineering team to ensure internal project tracking and metrics are kept up to date and accurate for scope, schedule, and budget
- Assisting Engineering Managers in development of project analysis for program and employee performance
Skills
- Bachelor's or Associates degree and 0- 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Strong background using Microsoft Excel
- Experience developing schedules using either MS Project or P6
- Enthusiasm to approach projects with solutions
- Ability and desire to learn and implement new software and systems
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Engineering background is desired but not required
- Familiarity with electric power industry and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services
- PMP Certification or desire to obtain PMP certification
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Workfront, MS Project or P6)
