Why This Role Matters

At arenaflex, data is the lifeblood of every breakthrough. As a Data Scientist on our Cloud Technologies Application Platform (AP) team, you will be at the heart of a revolutionary AI‑powered development environment. Your work will directly influence how internal development teams accelerate their software delivery cycles, improve product quality, and unlock new business opportunities. If you’re passionate about turning massive data sets into actionable intelligence and love collaborating with cross‑functional experts, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize data pipelines using Python, R, SQL, and cloud storage technologies such as Amazon S3, Azure Blob, and vector databases.
  • Perform rigorous data quality checks, including handling missing values, outlier detection, and validation of model outputs.
  • Select appropriate ML algorithms, fine‑tune hyper‑parameters, and evaluate model performance using metrics like precision, recall, F1‑score, and AUC‑ROC.
  • Implement and iterate on transformer architectures, vector embeddings, and large language models to solve diverse business problems.
  • Document experiments, present findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences, and provide clear recommendations for product improvements.
  • Stay current with state‑of‑the‑art AI research and proactively introduce innovative techniques to the team.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degrees (M.S. or Ph.D.) are a strong plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in product‑focused machine‑learning projects, preferably within a large‑scale technology organization.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL; familiarity with cloud storage solutions (S3, Azure Blob) and vector databases.
  • Modeling Expertise: Demonstrated ability to build, train, and evaluate models for classification, regression, and generative tasks, including experience with transformer‑based architectures.
  • Data Engineering: Strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data validation techniques.
  • Communication: Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline.
  • Experience with large language models (LLMs) such as GPT‑4, BERT, or similar.
  • Hands‑on experience with MLOps tools (Kubeflow, MLflow, TensorFlow Extended).
  • Background in developing AI‑driven developer tools or platforms.
  • Publications or contributions to open‑source AI projects.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex problems, identify root causes, and propose data‑driven solutions.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams, sharing knowledge, and building consensus.
  • Innovation Mindset: Eager to experiment with emerging AI techniques and translate research into production‑ready code.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data quality, model validation, and documentation.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑paced environment where priorities evolve rapidly.
