Why This Role Matters

In today’s fast‑paced business climate, accurate data entry is the backbone of payroll processing, compliance reporting, and client relationship management. Your meticulous attention to detail will directly influence the financial health of our clients and reinforce arenaflex’s reputation for reliability and excellence.

Position Overview

This is a 3‑4 month contract opportunity with the potential to extend or transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs. The position offers a flexible hybrid work model: you may report directly to the client’s office, work entirely from home, or split your time between the two environments. arenaflex will provide all necessary equipment—including a laptop, secure VPN access, and software licenses—to enable you to work efficiently from any location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, and accurately input client‑provided employee payroll data into internal and external payroll systems.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including personal details, contact information, and delivery addresses, ensuring compliance with data‑privacy standards.
  • Enter State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rate changes promptly to safeguard the integrity of client tax calculations.
  • Perform routine data audits to identify and correct inconsistencies, duplicate entries, or missing information.
  • Collaborate with client HR and finance teams to resolve data discrepancies and answer queries related to payroll entries.
  • Generate and distribute periodic reports that summarize data entry activities, accuracy metrics, and any outstanding items.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols, safeguarding sensitive employee and company information at all times.
  • Assist in onboarding new client accounts by setting up data templates, user permissions, and training documentation.
  • Continuously seek process‑improvement opportunities, suggesting automation or workflow enhancements to reduce manual effort.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional data entry experience, preferably in a payroll, HR, or finance environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, data sorting, and table creation.
  • Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with web‑based applications, cloud storage, and secure file‑transfer protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear interaction with clients and internal teams.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing time effectively in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks Payroll.
  • Knowledge of State Unemployment Insurance regulations and filing procedures.
  • Familiarity with data‑validation tools and basic scripting (e.g., VBA, Power Query) to streamline entry tasks.
  • Prior exposure to remote work environments, demonstrating reliable internet connectivity and a dedicated workspace.
  • Customer‑service experience, especially in handling confidential information with professionalism.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Accuracy & Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors and maintain data integrity across large datasets.
  • Organizational Skills: Efficiently manage multiple data entry queues while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Problem‑Solving: Quickly identify root causes of data discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and courteous interaction with clients, supervisors, and peers.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating changing priorities, new software tools, and evolving client requirements.

Compensation, Schedule & Location

Hourly Rate: $16.00 – $21.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and demonstrated skill set.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours (flexible start times may be discussed).
