Position Overview

This is a full-time, remote opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate of $25/hour, with standard working hours of 8 hours per day. The role is ideal for a quantitative professional with a passion for solving complex business challenges through data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics.

As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will lead and contribute to cross-functional projects spanning both energy and automotive business units. If you thrive in unstructured environments, enjoy taking problems from zero to one, and are eager to make a tangible impact through data, this opportunity is designed for you.

Key Responsibilities

As a core member of our Business Analytics team, your day-to-day work will span the full lifecycle of data science projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • End-to-End Project Leadership: Contribute to all stages of data science projects—from translating ambiguous business problems into well-defined data science questions, to performing exploratory data analysis, building models, and delivering actionable solutions to stakeholders.
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain complex data pipelines that support our mission of democratizing data and enabling a truly data-driven organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, and Product Managers to deliver integrated analytical solutions.
  • Insight Communication: Communicate meaningful insights to audiences with varying levels of data literacy, ranging from technical teams to executive leadership.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with leadership, engineering, and operational teams to deliver insights that directly inform business strategy and process improvements.
  • Advanced Analytics Application: Apply machine learning, advanced statistical techniques, and data visualization methods to diverse datasets across multiple business domains.
  • Process Automation: Identify opportunities to automate business processes through data-driven solutions, driving efficiency and scalability.
  • Sales and Service Support: Provide analytical support to sales and service teams, helping them leverage data to improve performance and customer outcomes.

  • Independence and Initiative: The ability to self-start, work independently in an unstructured environment, and bring clarity and structure to ambiguous problems.
  • Problem-Solving Acumen: Strong problem-framing, critical thinking, and project management skills, with the agility to pivot quickly when needed.
  • Prioritization Skills: The ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
