  • Provide intake support for all appeals received, capturing essential details and initiating review workflows.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify process improvement opportunities based on case reviews and emerging trends.
  • Utilize internal quality‑control tools to assess individual performance and contribute to team‑wide process enhancements.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers, fostering trust and open communication.
  • Stay current on customer‑service guidelines, industry regulations, and medical terminology to ensure compliance and best‑practice delivery.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary business coursework is a plus.
  • Experience: 2–3 years of clerical experience, including word processing, filing systems, and telephone‑based customer service.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, courteous demeanor, and ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating PC‑based systems; ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Organizational Ability: Strong multitasking, prioritization, and independent work habits.
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional service and building lasting relationships.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and prior experience in a health‑care setting.
  • Experience with data entry, electronic health record (EHR) platforms, or claims management systems.
  • Proficiency in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and document formatting.
  • Ability to interpret complex appeals and make informed decisions within established guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and adapt to evolving operational needs.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Empathy & Active Listening: Understanding caller concerns and responding with genuine care.
  • Problem‑Solving: Quickly identifying solutions or appropriate referrals for diverse inquiries.
