About This Opportunity

We are currently seeking reliable and skilled Automobile Technicians to join our comprehensive fleet preservation team. In this position, you will maintain and service a wide variety of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from multiple manufacturers. Our fleet features diverse propulsion systems, including diesel, gasoline, and alternative power generation technologies such as compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), propane, hybrid, and electric vehicles in select locations.

As an Automobile Technician at arenaflex, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and maintaining various vehicle systems—including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls. Key Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet of delivery vehicles, tractors, and trailers. This includes engine diagnostics, brake system service, electrical system troubleshooting, and transmission maintenance.
  • System Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computer-based systems to identify issues accurately and efficiently. Troubleshoot problems across hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and engine control systems.
  • Compliance & Safety: Meet all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements as needed for specific job tasks. Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet regulatory and safety standards.
  • Physical Performance: Perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivots frequently throughout the workday. Occasional sitting may also be required.
  • Hand Tool Operations: Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and both manual and automatic transmission operations. Handle tasks requiring fine hand manipulation, power hand gripping, and reaching from floor level to above shoulder height.
  • Equipment Certification: Meet all requirements to become Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certified as needed for the position.
  • Safety Equipment: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for specific repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Environmental Adaptability: Work in environments with variable temperatures and humidity levels. This includes exposure to cleaning substances, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise. May also involve working in outdoor inclement weather conditions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively in a diverse team environment, communicating effectively through verbal, written, and visual means to complete assigned duties and maintain proper job safety protocols.
  • Shift Flexibility: Be available to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday schedules depending on location needs. Work full-time shifts of 8-10 hours per day, 4-5 days per week.
  • Overtime Availability: Available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime depending on service needs and operational demands.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: Demonstrated automotive mechanical experience with a proven track record of quality work. Previous experience in fleet maintenance, dealership service, or heavy-duty vehicle repair is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers for vehicle analysis and repair documentation.
  • Tool Proficiency: Possess a complete supplement of personal hand tools necessary to perform the job effectively.
  • License: A Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not required for all positions.
  • Reliability: Must be reliable with the ability to report to work on a daily and timely basis and complete scheduled workdays consistently.
  • Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. Citizen or national of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with alternative fuel vehicles (CNG, LNG, propane, hybrid, or electric).
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent credentials.
  • Experience with fleet management software and repair order documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.
