We champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering an environment where every voice is heard and every perspective adds value. If you thrive in a collaborative, fast‑moving environment where your ideas can shape the future of healthcare technology, you’ll feel right at home with us.

Why This Role Matters

As a Senior Data Architect at arenaflex, you will be the strategic mind behind the design and evolution of our enterprise‑wide data platforms. You will translate business goals into robust, scalable technical solutions that support high‑impact products, drive customer satisfaction, and align with arenaflex’s long‑term vision. Your work will directly influence the reliability, performance, and security of the data services that power critical healthcare applications used by thousands of providers nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Architecture: Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate enterprise objectives into detailed technical requirements and a multi‑year platform roadmap that spans on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Solution Design & Documentation: Create comprehensive architecture diagrams, data flow models, integration blueprints, and technical specifications that guide development, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide hands‑on guidance on design patterns, data modeling, API strategy, and DevOps practices for complex, multi‑system integrations, ensuring consistency across all product lines.
  • Capacity & Performance Planning: Estimate effort, resource needs, and timelines for architectural initiatives; define service‑level objectives (SLOs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor platform health.
  • Collaboration & Feedback Loop: Work closely with the Product team to continuously gather feedback, prioritize enhancements, and drive iterative improvements that boost customer success.
  • Innovation & Upsell Enablement: Identify opportunities for new technical initiatives, platform extensions, and upsell pathways that increase value for existing customers while maintaining architectural integrity.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all designs adhere to regulatory standards, security best practices, and arenaflex’s internal governance policies, including data privacy and HIPAA compliance.
  • Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Coach engineering teams on best practices, conduct architecture workshops, and champion a culture of technical excellence.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business‑focused narratives for executives, non‑technical partners, and external vendors.
  • Cost Optimization: Review vendor contracts and technology choices to guarantee the lowest total cost of ownership while maintaining performance and reliability.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience designing and implementing enterprise‑scale data solutions, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead architect role.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft ecosystem technologies: Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, Azure DevOps, .NET, C#, and Power BI.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and modern data warehouses such as Snowflake.
  • Strong background in Agile environments, including facilitation of Scrum ceremonies and delivery of incremental value.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Advanced certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, Certified Data Management Professional).
  • Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, ARM templates).
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data lineage, and master data management (MDM) concepts.
  • Track record of delivering high‑availability, fault‑tolerant systems that support mission‑critical workloads.
  • Ability to mentor junior architects and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Customer‑First Mindset: Empathy for client challenges and a relentless drive to deliver solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture, anticipate future needs, and design architectures that scale with business growth.
  • Problem‑Solving: Translate technical complexities into actionable, business‑oriented solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively across cross‑functional teams, fostering trust and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, quickly adopting new technologies and methodologies.
  • Leadership: Inspire and guide engineering teams, champion best practices, and drive architectural excellence.
