Why Join arenaflex?

At arenaflex, we believe that a motivated, well‑trained team is the cornerstone of exceptional patient and payer experiences. As a Medical Billing Training & Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be at the heart of our Remote Care Management (RCM) operations, shaping the skills of new hires, refining quality standards, and ensuring that every claim is processed with precision. This role offers you the chance to work 100 % from home, enjoy a supportive learning environment, and contribute to a mission that directly impacts the financial health of healthcare organizations and the wellbeing of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver structured training curricula for medical billing teams, using both live virtual classrooms and on‑demand e‑learning modules.
  • Conduct one‑on‑one coaching sessions to address performance gaps, reinforce best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of billing transactions on a regular cadence, generating detailed reports for local managers and senior leadership.
  • Oversee quality control measures, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, payer contracts, and internal accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and cross‑functional leaders to identify performance issues and implement targeted remediation plans.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date repository of process documentation, job aids, and training materials that reflect the latest changes in payer policies, coding guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end denial management workflow: identify denied claims, perform root‑cause analysis, file corrected claims, and appeal when appropriate.
  • Execute pre‑registration, authorization, and PFCC (Patient Financial Care Coordination) activities, ensuring accurate data capture and timely submission to both government and commercial payers.
  • Reconcile accounts, track outstanding balances, and communicate proactively with insurance companies to secure payment.
  • Provide mentorship and performance feedback to new hires, measuring training outcomes against predefined KPIs and adjusting curricula as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of hands‑on experience in denial management, accounts receivable (AR) collection, pre‑registration, or authorization within the U.S. healthcare ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated expertise in navigating payer portals, understanding reimbursement models for both government (Medicare, Medicaid) and commercial insurers.
  • Proficiency with the arenaflex platform (formerly known as EPIC) for claim entry, eligibility verification, and reporting.
  • Strong grasp of healthcare terminology, billing cycles, coding conventions, and reimbursement guidelines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Windows‑based operating systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, professionalism, and a courteous demeanor in all interactions.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute with high data‑entry accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with additional RCM software solutions beyond the arenaflex platform.
  • Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CPB) or related healthcare administration credentials.
  • Background in adult learning principles, instructional design, or a proven track record of developing effective training programs.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance frameworks such as Six Sigma, Lean, or ISO standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets, generate actionable insights, and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Multilingual capabilities or experience working with diverse, multicultural teams.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect denied claims, identify patterns, and implement corrective actions.
  • Negotiation & Influence: Skilled at communicating with payer representatives to resolve disputes and secure timely payments.
  • Coaching & Mentorship: Passion for developing talent, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a growth mindset.
