[Remote] Volunteer – SEO & AEO Specialist

Walking in Step with God Ministries is a dynamic faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals to deepen their faith through inspiring content and a supportive community. They are seeking a skilled and motivated SEO / AEO Specialist to join their team of volunteers and play a vital role in optimizing their content for traditional search engines and AI-driven answer engines.
Responsibilities
- Update and optimize content with proper heading structure to ensure optimal organization
- Draft and implement SEO-friendly titles and meta descriptions
- Ensure natural keyword usage across web and blog content
- Implement strategic internal linking between related content
- Identify opportunities and build high-quality external backlinks to improve domain authority and search visibility
- Write descriptive and accurate image alt text
- Improve overall content readability and flow for our target audience
Skills
- Understanding of basic on-page SEO and AEO principles
- Experience writing clear, engaging web and blog content
- Familiarity with WordPress editors (Gutenberg or Classic)
- Ability to research keywords and accurately identify search intent
- Understanding of internal linking practices and their impact on search visibility
- Strong writing clarity and content organization skills
- Experience with tools like Rank Math (or Yoast SEO), Google Search Console, and Google Analytics
- Experience working in a non-profit or faith-based organization
- Interest in or knowledge of Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and AI search trends
