[Remote] Sr. Software Engineer (Platform Backend)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Tag-N-Trac is a company providing full stack IoT traceability solutions aimed at revolutionizing supply chain and inventory management. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to collaborate with the Product team in designing and maintaining robust cloud native enterprise scale solutions, focusing on real-time data processing from IoT devices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Product team to design, develop, and maintain robust cloud native enterprise scale solutions
- Implement scalable, high-performance systems for real-time data processing coming from the various sensors and IoT devices
- Implement data processing layer components of the platform using state of the art technologies and design extensible data models
- Build microservices for the various components of TagNTrac platform aka RELATIVITY SaaS platform
- Build the platform to be ready to integrate with the latest AI frameworks and rules engines for predicting and deriving real-time insights
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement and optimization of our core platform and customer-facing API’s
- Mentor and guide junior members as needed
Skills
- Past experience working with relational databases, time series databases and dealing with large volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Past experience building APIs and microservices
- Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including relevant background in computer science fundamentals, distributed systems, data storage, and agile development methodologies
- You are able to utilize your knowledge and expertise to code and ship quality products in a timely manner
- You are pragmatic and combine a strong understanding of technology and product needs to arrive at the best solution for a given problem
- You are highly entrepreneurial and thrive in taking ownership of your own impact. You take the initiative to solve problems before they arise
- You are an excellent collaborator & communicator. You know that start-ups are a team sport. You listen to others, aren't afraid to speak your mind and always try to ask the right questions
- You are excited by the prospect of working in a distributed team and company, working with teammates across the globe
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer science or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience in developing scalable backend services using Java, Python, Go or Ruby on Rails
- Experience working with AWS (Lambda, RDS, Redshift, Bedrock) or GCP (DataFlow, BigQuery, Vertex AI)
- Experience working with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience developing products in supply chain management and inventory management is a plus
