As the EHS Regional Manager, you will serve as a key leader in shaping and advancing Mittera’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence. You will provide strategic direction and hands-on support across multiple locations, partnering closely with local teams and business leaders to build and sustain a culture rooted in safe, responsible work practices. In this role, you will lead the development and execution of comprehensive safety programs, drive consistency in policies and procedures, and elevate organizational standards through training, coaching, and continuous improvement. You will conduct audits, lead incident investigations, and identify opportunities to proactively mitigate risk. Additionally, you will collaborate with corporate leadership and site-level teams to ensure alignment, accountability, and a unified approach to EHS across all operations.   • Organizes and oversees safety initiatives and programs led by EHS Coordinators
  • Ensures EHS Coordinators manage their respective locations efficiently and in alignment with company goals
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely, constructive, and development-focused
  • Handles employee discipline and termination as needed, in accordance with company policy
  • Partner with each Business Unit within the assigned region to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Align corporate and local EHS goals and strategies to drive consistency and performance
  • Collaborate with other EHS Regional and Division Managers to develop and implement companywide safety initiatives, policies, and procedures
  • Lead, develop, and manage local EHS team members
  • Lead EHS audits and inspections; develop and implement remediation plans as needed
  • Facilitate environmental compliance workshops, including water, waste, air, stormwater, and sustainability initiatives
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts related to EHS policies, programs, and performance
  • Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation
  • Develop and deliver employee training programs that promote awareness and accountability
  • Identify hazards, develop controls, and coordinate implementation of corrective actions
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control systems, policies, and procedures; recommend improvements to reduce workplace incidents
  • Oversee the Workers’ Compensation program by partnering with vendors, medical providers, and brokers to enhance outcomes and processes
  • Partner with Human Resources to manage OSHA 300 logs and related compliance reporting
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA and EPA regulations, as well as internal safety policies and standards
  • Support and participate in Safety Committees as needed
  • Ability to travel to locations across the network (approximately 25–35%)
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required to meet organizational objectives Requirements Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, Business, Industrial Management, or a related field, and 2–5 years of relevant experience in a health and safety role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements
  • Working knowledge of environmental programs, safety systems, and workers’ compensation processes
  • Ability to calculate and interpret exposure levels, concentrations, emissions, percentages, and related safety metrics
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
