We deliver secure, high-quality language access in more than 80 languages for USCIS and other federal agencies. We are seeking Russian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to join our USCIS contract team. These interpreters will provide real-time telephonic interpretation between Russian and English during immigration interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate, impartial Russian ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders. Interpret in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts with professionalism. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance standards. Handle both scheduled and urgent interpretation requests. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.
Qualifications
Native or near-native proficiency in Russian and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, medical, or government settings preferred). Knowledge of interpreter ethics and professional standards (NCIHC, ATA, RID). Strong communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $25–30/hour. Remote work with secure, USCIS-approved systems.
