[Remote] Business Development Specialist

The Business Development Specialist will support the Sales team by conducting market research, generating leads, and managing customer data to enhance outreach strategies and drive growth.

Responsibilities

  • Collect publicly available industry reports and articles to build resources for reporting on industry trends, competitor activity, and targeted customer activity
  • Conduct ad-hoc secondary research on industry, markets, customers, and competitors for senior executives, marketing, and strategy teams
  • Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and prospective client needs to tailor outreach strategies
  • Perform business analysis and modeling of market size, growth, pricing, labor costs, and strategy
  • Support the sales pipeline with qualified leads to meet annual growth goals
  • Develop standard and unique methods to build prospect lists, conduct direct calling or marketing campaigns to increase awareness and capabilities of Lazer Logistics
  • Apply Lead Qualification value codes (5-point scale) and forward leads to the Sales Team
  • Interact with internal functional teams and external customers and vendors to identify business needs and solutions to meet those needs
  • Vetting prospects to ensure they have the need, budget, and authority to purchase, turning raw leads into qualified opportunities
  • Create value statements for use in presentations, marketing campaigns, and talking points when interacting with potential customers
  • Support Sales in identifying and contacting potential customers who fit the company's ideal customer profile (ICP) via phone, email, and social media
  • Build, cleanse and update customer and lead data in Salesforce CRM to ensure quality information for reporting
  • Maintaining accurate records of all outreach activities and prospective interactions in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool like Salesforce
  • Conduct analysis of the success of the Lead program and make changes to improve results
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports of qualified leads to total contacts to measure effectiveness of target lists and resulting in new business
  • Promote a business partner and ownership mindset to the team to prioritize customer service excellence, adaptability and resilience to change and continuous improvement
  • Other tasks as assigned

Skills

  • Strong sales, analytical, and research capabilities
  • Ability to synthesize competitive market data
  • Experience in conducting market research and analysis
  • Experience in lead generation and pipeline support
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM or similar CRM tools
  • Ability to interact with internal functional teams and external customers and vendors
  • Experience in vetting prospects to ensure they have the need, budget, and authority to purchase
  • Ability to create value statements for presentations and marketing campaigns
  • Experience in maintaining accurate records of outreach activities
  • Ability to generate reports and analyze the success of lead programs
