[Remote] Sr Accountant

Sentara Health is a healthcare organization dedicated to improving health every day, and they are seeking a Sr Accountant to prepare and analyze financial statements for management presentation. The role involves creating work papers, reconciling accounts, and assisting with year-end audits while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, research, and adjust financial statements for management presentation
- Creates relevant work papers, schedules, and reconciliations
- Review and comprehend financial indicators and results of operations, significant operational statistics, variances from budget and historical results
- Research technical accounting and financial reporting issues, and assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects
- This position assists in preparation and coordination of year-end audits
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required
- 1 year Accounting or Finance experience required
- Strong Excel skills
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration will be considered in lieu of required experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
- Public Accounting experience strongly preferred
- Previous Healthcare experience preferred
