Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Systems Engineer - Tier II

Overview/ Job Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Enterprise Google Cloud Platform Engineer to join our dynamic Tier II team. Sklled in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining various cloud-based solutions for our federal customer. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deploy and optimize GCP... services to drive scalability, availability, and security. This position requires presence onsite at the customer location in Arlington, VA one day per week. Responsibilities • Design and architect secure, highly available, and scalable solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop strategies for cloud-based infrastructure and services. • Implement and configure GCP services, including Compute Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery. • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment and management of GCP resources. • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and system outages in GCP environments. • Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, and cost optimization initiatives. • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing and Google Cloud Platform. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. • Proven experience as a Google Cloud Platform Engineer or similar role. • Proficient in designing and implementing GCP services and architecture. • Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. • Experience with deploying and managing microservices and serverless applications on GCP. • Solid understanding of network and infrastructure security principles in the cloud. • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform). • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. • GCP certifications (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer) are a plus. • Must be clearable for a US Government Clearance. Desired Qualifications: Clearance Preference • DHS EOD - 1st priority • Any DHS badge + DoD Top Secret or Secret - 2nd choice • DoD Secret or Top Secret + willingness to get EOD clearance - 3rd choice (it can take 45 days to obtain EOD clearance – work can only begin once the clearance is fully adjudicated) About Sev1Tech LLC: Founded in 2010, Sev1Tech provides IT, engineering, and program management solutions delivery.
