[Remote] AI/ML Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Oxenham Group is seeking a technically sharp, mission-driven AI Cloud Engineer to join their cloud engineering practice. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of AI-enabled cloud solutions for federal and public sector clients, ensuring security, compliance, and performance are prioritized. Responsibilities include architecting secure AI solutions on AWS, leading cloud migrations, and advising stakeholders on AI strategy and cloud optimization.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy secure, scalable AI solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, ECS, and EKS
- Lead end-to-end cloud migrations — including re-architecture, refactoring, and containerization of legacy systems
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation; engineer CI/CD pipelines for AI model and infrastructure deployment
- Implement MLOps practices including model versioning, monitoring, and retraining workflow
- Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Kiro) to accelerate delivery and improve solution quality
- Conduct architecture and security reviews; identify gaps and drive remediation
- Ensure solutions meet federal compliance standards including FedRAMP and NIST framework
- Advise technical and executive stakeholders on AI strategy, roadmap prioritization, and cloud optimization
- Collaborate across cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and program teams to maintain secure, compliant environment
- Produce architecture documentation and present findings and recommendations to leadership
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field plus AWS Professional certification(s) and AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty
- 8+ years in cloud and AI technologies, with at least 4 years focused on AWS AI services — or 10 years of equivalent hands-on experience
- US Citizenship required
- Proven track record architecting AI solutions in compliance-driven, secure environments
- Deep familiarity with AWS AI/ML services, cloud-native architecture patterns, and DevSecOps practices
- Experience modernizing legacy systems and driving cloud transformation initiatives
- Solid understanding of federal security and governance frameworks
- Strong communicator comfortable presenting to both technical teams and executive leadership
- Able to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and work Eastern Time Zone hours
- Active security clearance or Public Trust (DOJ preferred)
- Experience with generative AI and large language model deployment
- Background in DevSecOps within regulated government programs
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture in cloud environments
- Experience integrating AI into enterprise ERP, data lakes, or mission-critical systems
- History advising senior leadership on AI adoption and digital transformation strategy
