They are seeking a motivated Business Development Specialist to support growth in the Cell and Gene Therapy market by managing a defined territory, driving new business opportunities, and building strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the full sales cycle for assigned accounts, including prospecting, opportunity development, closing, and account expansion
  • Manage a portfolio of low to mid-volume accounts while identifying opportunities to grow high-value customers within the territory
  • Achieve and consistently deliver on monthly and annual sales targets through effective pipeline management
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships through cross-selling strategies
  • Maintain and manage a healthy sales funnel, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely progression of opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including scientific support, product management, and marketing teams, to meet customer needs
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Lonza’s Biosciences Discovery portfolio and effectively communicate its value proposition to customers
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and activities within the CRM system

Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in sales or business development within the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting, pipeline management, and closing
  • Strong understanding of cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related scientific disciplines
  • Working knowledge of drug discovery workflows, pre-clinical development, and the Cell & Gene Therapy landscape
  • Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships through a consultative and solutions-oriented approach
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% as needed for customer engagement
