[Remote] Nuclear Project Manager (U.S. Remote Eligible)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager for New Product Introduction. This role involves comprehensive project management of novel developments in instrumentation and controls, ensuring high-quality project delivery while collaborating with internal functions and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of project management for assigned projects, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and resource management. Projects may include design engineering, licensing, and equipment procurement related to new product offerings
- Provide leadership and strategic oversight for project teams, ensuring projects are delivered within schedule and cost constraints
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, and timelines
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and business policies
- Monitor project performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report progress to stakeholders
- Manage change orders as needed to address project scope changes or non-standard events
- Mentor and guide junior project managers, sharing expertise and best practices
- Develop specialized knowledge in nuclear energy and stay updated on the latest technical developments in the field
- Use technical expertise for data analysis to support project decisions and recommendations
Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (equivalent experience/education will be considered, such as Senior Reactor Operator with project management experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management
- Minimum 3 years managing medium- to large-scale projects
- Demonstrated experience in the nuclear industry, with a solid understanding of nuclear project requirements
- PMP Certification (or the ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Ability and willingness to travel (~15%) domestically and internationally to GE Vernova and customer locations
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government
- Extensive experience in the nuclear power industry
- Experience with nuclear instrumentation and controls engineering and projects
- Proven track record in managing complex projects
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders
