[Remote] DC Power Telecom Technician Level III/IV - New Mexico

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Exponential Power is seeking a Level III/IV Lead Installer responsible for quality installation of equipment in central office and outside plant environments. The role requires extensive travel and involves installing, testing, and turning up equipment while ensuring compliance with engineering instructions and customer standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and turn up equipment in the Central Office and Outside Plant Environments
  • Add and/or removal of battery strings
  • Perform additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits
  • Add and/or remove circuits on working power distribution equipment
  • Installation of auxiliary framing and relay racks
  • On­site analysis of job drawings and specifications to resolve any issues prior to job start
  • Preparation of SMOPs and DMOPs for the project
  • Function as the point ­of­ contact for support groups such as engineering, material assignment, etc
  • Review the work assignments and project steps (reference the SMOP/DMOP) before each work shift so that all personnel, including contractors, are aware of their roles and responsibilities during the scheduled work tour
  • Completing the job log as per company standards, including the personnel and hours worked by each work items completed or in progress and notable site or project issues
  • Complete DC audits, preventive maintenance, and/or load testing of DC power systems and standby batteries
  • Add and/or upgrade software as needed
  • Oversee the work assignment, time management, and training and development of all personnel assigned to the job
  • Maintain a professional orientation, ensuring quality and outstanding customer service

Skills

  • Level 4 installers shall have a minimum of 6 years accumulated experience or equivalent as determined by the TC specifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of customer standards including but not limited to Telcordia Standards
  • Strong verbal and written customer facing skills
  • Strong computer skills to include MS Office experience
  • Experience with complying with all customer standards and paperwork including testing and closeout paperwork
  • Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment
  • Technical degree preferred
  • Special electronics training or work experience
