[Remote] Business Development & Account Manager \- A2P SMS Wholesale

The Business Development & Account Manager will manage international wholesale partners, driving growth and maintaining relationships to meet business needs.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the international A2P SMS wholesale market
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with SMS aggregators (preferably Tier 1), international telecom carriers, CPaaS providers, and other messaging partners
- Develop and execute regional growth strategies that increase traffic volumes, revenue, and market presence
- Prepare commercial proposals, lead rate negotiations, and manage contract discussions with prospective and existing partners
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing movements, and emerging opportunities to support business growth
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations to establish mutually beneficial agreements
- Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic international accounts across the assigned region
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned customers and partners
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through account expansion, route optimization, traffic growth, and new service offerings (upselling)
- Conduct regular business reviews with partners to strengthen relationships and align on growth opportunities
- Maintain strong partner engagement through proactive communication and relationship management, sustaining high customer satisfaction and retention
- Monitor account performance, traffic volumes, delivery quality, pricing competitiveness, and profitability across assigned accounts
- Discuss routing quality, delivery performance, and pricing structures directly with customers and suppliers
- Review traffic trends and commercial performance data to identify growth opportunities, operational risks, and optimization initiatives
- Collaborate closely with Routing, Technical Support, Finance, and Product teams to resolve partner issues and improve service performance
- Support route onboarding, traffic migrations, commercial launches, and partner integrations where required
- Handle commercial escalations and manage operational risks that may impact customer experience, revenue, or partner relationships
- Maintain accurate account plans, opportunity pipelines, sales trackers, and partner records
- Prepare regular commercial updates, forecasts, and performance reports for management
- Provide market intelligence and partner feedback to support strategic decision-making and product development
- Track progress against revenue targets, growth objectives, and account performance KPIs
Skills
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience within the wholesale telecommunications industry, specifically focused on A2P SMS
- Proven experience in business development, account management, partnership management, or wholesale sales, with demonstrated success delivering measurable revenue growth
- Currently working, or recently worked, for an SMS aggregator, CPaaS provider, telecom carrier, messaging hub, or MNO wholesale division, with an active portfolio of industry contacts
- Existing relationships with SMS aggregators (preferably Tier 1), Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), and international telecom carriers
- Experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing partner relationships across multiple markets
- Strong understanding of the international A2P SMS wholesale market, including traffic flows, routing models, pricing structures, and commercial dynamics
- Familiarity with direct, indirect, and alternative routing models and their operational and commercial implications
- Understanding of messaging regulations, sender ID requirements, compliance standards, and industry best practices
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of African telecommunications markets and messaging ecosystems is highly desirable
- Additional European languages are considered an advantage
- Based in Europe, preferably within Croatia, Serbia, or neighboring markets
