[Remote] Financial Specialist (Remote)

Parsons Corporation is a leader in the defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure markets, seeking a skilled Financial Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will support complex projects by collaborating with finance and project management teams to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, tracking, and analysis of project budgets and forecasts
- Collaborate with project teams to monitor financial performance, track expenditures, and help mitigate financial risks
- Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support project and business decision-making
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis, while supporting management reporting, revenue tracking, and cost reconciliation
- Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and financial procedures
- Recommend and support process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and financial efficiency
- Assist with audits, cost proposals, and other financial documents as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA a plus
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis or project accounting, preferably within an engineering or contracting environment
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, logical functions, and data manipulation
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication to collaborate across multiple teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and collaborative environment
- Experience working with a variety of contract types, including firm-fixed-price, cost reimbursement, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and time and materials contracts
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and continuously evolving environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy in financial data and reporting
- Experience with online reporting systems and workflow development
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Familiarity with project-based accounting or engineering/construction industry financial processes is a plus
