[Remote] Senior Signal Integrity and Power Integrity Engineer

Remote · USA Full-time New today

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Signal Edge Solutions is a premier provider of advanced high-speed measurement and electromagnetic modeling. They are seeking a Senior Signal Integrity and Power Integrity Engineer who will take technical ownership of client projects, lead design decisions, and drive business growth through consultative leadership and thought leadership in the SI/PI field.

Responsibilities

  • Design Authority: Take full responsibility for the technical success of client projects, from initial scoping and stack-up definition to final measurement correlation
  • Consultative Leadership: Act as the primary technical expert for clients, operating with the autonomy to make high-level design decisions and justify them to senior architects
  • Business & Product Development: Identify and cultivate new client relationships through technical excellence and consultative problem-solving. At Signal Edge, engineers who drive business growth are incentivized and rewarded like partners
  • Thought Leadership: Author high-impact technical publications and white papers to establish yourself and the firm as the premier authority in the SI/PI field
  • High-Speed Architecture: Design and optimize mission-critical interfaces including Ethernet, PCIe Gen 5/6, UCIe, SerDes, and LPDDR4/5
  • Advanced Modeling: Lead the simulation of 112G+ SerDes and high-speed data buses using IBIS-AMI modeling
  • System-Level Engineering: Drive package/PCB stack-up design, material selection, and layout reviews for high-performance AI/ML and Defense hardware
  • Full-Wave Analysis: Master industry-standard tools (Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS) to solve complex EM coupling and crosstalk issues
  • Advanced VRM Modeling: Utilize state-of-the-art VRM state-space average models to solve both large-signal (transient/stability) and small-signal (impedance/control loop) modeling problems
  • PDN Architecture: Optimize the Power Delivery Network (PDN) for high-current ASIC and FPGA designs, ensuring stability from the VRM to the Die-level
  • Multiphysics Analysis: Execute DC drop and electrothermal simulations to ensure reliability in high-power density environments
  • Integrated PI: Model the complete power path, accounting for the complex interactions between the VRM, PCB, Package, and Silicon
  • Hardware Validation: Utilize VNA and TDR to characterize PCB/Package materials and validate high-speed channels
  • Correlation: Close the design loop by proving that your predictive models match real-world physical performance
  • Tool Architecture: Develop and deploy end-to-end automation workflows that bridge the gap between EDA simulation and lab measurement hardware
  • Scripting: Use Python or MATLAB to automate repetitive simulation tasks, data extraction, and report generation

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE or PhD preferred)
  • 7+ years of professional experience (or 5+ years with an advanced MS/PhD track) in high-speed SI/PI engineering
  • Deep understanding of transmission line theory, S-parameters, and PDN design methods and modeling
  • Proficiency in Ansys (SIwave/HFSS) and/or Keysight ADS
  • U.S. Citizenship Required (ITAR compliant)
  • Experience developing new automation solutions for EDA tools and measurement workflows
  • Strong grasp of linear control systems and state-space representation for VRM modeling
  • Proven track record of managing technical client engagements independently

Benefits

  • Entrepreneurial Compensation: Competitive salary with a bonus policy that includes direct incentives for new client acquisition and product sales.
  • Publication Rewards: Financial incentives for authoring technical publications and presenting at conferences like DesignCon and IEEE.
  • Zero-Micromanagement: A high-trust, remote-first environment where you own your schedule and your outcomes.
  • Elite Tools: Unrestricted access to state-of-the-art simulation and measurement infrastructure.
  • Radical Flexibility: Generous PTO and parental leave policies to ensure long-term performance and work-life harmony.
