Position Summary

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at arenaflex is the front‑line ambassador who ensures every customer leaves the store feeling heard, helped, and satisfied. This role blends retail sales acumen with foundational pharmacy support, operating under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will be responsible for delivering a seamless checkout experience, assisting with prescription processing, and maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting pharmacy environment. Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Service Excellence

  • Greet every customer and patient with a warm, friendly demeanor, establishing immediate rapport.
  • Proactively identify customer needs, offering product recommendations, health‑related advice, and service suggestions in line with arenaflex service traits.
  • Provide courteous, efficient checkout service using the assigned cash register, handling cash, credit, and electronic payments accurately.
  • Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges while maintaining compliance with store policies.
  • Assist customers in locating over‑the‑counter (OTC) items, guiding them to appropriate aisles, and answering product‑related questions.
  • Deliver photo‑area services, including digital passport photos, poster printing, and promotional product suggestions.
  • Manage web‑pick‑up orders by monitoring the Picture Care Plus system, assembling orders, and delivering them to waiting customers.
  • Maintain a clean, well‑merchandised sales floor, ensuring shelves are stocked, displays are attractive, and promotional signage is current.

Pharmacy Operations & Support

  • Utilize arenaxflex pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information, accurately entering data under pharmacist supervision.
  • Assist in filling prescriptions by counting, pouring, and verifying pharmaceutical products, ensuring correct medication and dosage.
  • Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and follow arenaflex Quality Improvement Program protocols.
  • Handle non‑clinical telephone calls, including communications with physicians, and process manual claims for third‑party prescription services.
  • Support inventory management activities: ordering, receiving, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments; conduct regular stock rotation using FIFO (first‑in, first‑out) methodology.
  • Adhere to arenaflex Pharmacy Code of Conduct, state and federal regulations, and the arenaflex policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing.
  • Assist with compliance checks for regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
  • Participate in the creation and upkeep of promotional displays, seasonal setups, and merchandise resets as directed by the store manager.

Training, Development & Compliance

  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or meet state‑required pharmacy technician licensing standards.
  • Complete ongoing training modules, performance‑linked learning (PPL) sessions, and continuing education credits to stay current on healthcare trends.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of arenaflex asset protection techniques, reporting discrepancies such as overages, shortages, or damaged goods promptly.
  • Uphold respectful relationships with coworkers, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Perform special assignments and additional duties as delegated by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Store Manager.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; additional education in pharmacy technology or related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a retail or pharmacy setting, demonstrating strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate cash registers, handle monetary transactions, and reconcile cash drawers accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmacy terminology, prescription processing, and medication safety protocols.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and respond empathetically.
  • Strong organizational abilities, capable of multitasking in a fast‑moving environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and pharmacy software platforms; comfort with technology and digital tools.
  • Commitment to adhering to all state, federal, and arenaflex policies regarding controlled substances and regulated products.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential or eligibility to obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Experience with inventory management systems, including receiving, stocking, and conducting cycle counts.
  • Familiarity with health insurance verification processes and third‑party claim submissions.
  • Demonstrated ability to train or mentor new team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Basic understanding of health‑related regulations such as HIPAA and the ability to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet store operational needs.
