Role Overview – Remote Customer Service & Sales Representative (Retention Specialist)

In this fully remote position, you will serve as a Retention Specialist whose primary responsibility is to turn potential cancellations into lasting relationships. You will engage high‑volume inbound calls from customers who are considering ending their arenaflex service, identify underlying concerns, and present tailored solutions that demonstrate the true value of arenaflex’s offerings. Your success will be measured by your ability to deliver an award‑winning experience, reduce churn, and drive incremental revenue through upselling and cross‑selling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer a steady stream of inbound calls from customers expressing intent to cancel arenaflex services.
  • Listen actively, ask probing questions, and uncover the root causes of dissatisfaction.
  • Present personalized retention offers—such as discounted rates, billing adjustments, equipment upgrades, or additional services—to address each customer’s unique situation.
  • Utilize a suite of more than ten internal tools (pricing calculators, CRM, billing platforms, etc.) to negotiate and close retention deals efficiently.
  • Maintain a calm, empathetic, and solution‑focused demeanor, especially on escalated or emotionally charged calls.
  • Document every interaction accurately in the arenaflex CRM, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics, including call handling time, first‑call resolution, and retention rate targets.
  • Continuously improve product knowledge, staying current on arenaflex’s evolving portfolio, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
  • Collaborate with the sales, technical support, and billing teams to resolve complex issues that may require multi‑departmental coordination.
  • Participate in regular coaching sessions, performance reviews, and skill‑building workshops to refine de‑escalation and negotiation techniques.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales‑oriented call‑center environment, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding retention and upsell targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high‑volume inbound calls while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong arithmetic skills; comfortable performing quick calculations to illustrate cost savings or value propositions.
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Reliable high‑speed internet (minimum 25 Mbps download / 15 Mbps upload) and a dedicated, distraction‑free home workspace.
  • Excellent verbal communication, active listening, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency with multiple computer applications simultaneously (e.g., CRM, knowledge base, pricing tools).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the home‑security or smart‑home technology sector.
  • Familiarity with contract interpretation and the ability to clearly explain terms and conditions to customers.
  • Previous exposure to de‑escalation techniques for handling angry or frustrated callers.

All new hires participate in an intensive, paid, on‑site training program at arenaflex’s Wichita, KS campus. Over an 8‑ to 12‑week period, you will receive:

  • Daily instruction from seasoned trainers covering product fundamentals, sales methodology, and retention strategies.
  • Hands‑on practice with arenaflex’s proprietary systems, pricing calculators, and escalation protocols.
  • Coaching sessions focused on refining active‑listening, objection handling, and negotiation techniques.
  • Performance metrics tracking to ensure you meet the benchmarks required for full‑time deployment.
  • Opportunities to shadow top‑performing retention specialists and learn best practices in real‑time.

After successful completion of the training curriculum, you will transition to a fully remote role with ongoing mentorship, quarterly skill‑enhancement workshops, and a clear career ladder within arenaflex’s sales and customer experience organization.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits

  • Starting Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour, with incremental increases of $0.50 every 30 days until reaching $21.00 after 180 days.
