Position Overview
This full‑time, remote role (40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 9:45 am – 6:15 pm CST) is based in our Family Engagement Center. You will join a highly skilled team of Care Advisors who specialize in serving members with special needs and their families. The role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States, a comprehensive 18‑week paid training program, and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of families facing medical, financial, and emotional challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Holistic Family Support: Own end‑to‑end resolution of complex issues for members with special needs or caregivers of children with special needs, ensuring every interaction is compassionate and solution‑focused.
- Multi‑Channel Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact via phone, and when appropriate, email, chat, or text, delivering clear, empathetic guidance.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate lasting relationships with members, teammates, and external partners to foster trust and continuity of care.
- Independent Decision‑Making: Apply sound judgment and critical thinking to solve problems creatively, without constant supervision.
- Expectation Management: Set realistic expectations, follow through on commitments, and keep members informed throughout the resolution process.
- Project & Time Management: Prioritize tasks, organize workload, and ensure timely follow‑up and outreach activities.
- Outreach Initiatives: Conduct proactive outreach calls to members referred by executives and partners, initiating supportive conversations early in their journey.
- Documentation Accuracy: Maintain precise family counts and case notes within our documentation platform, ensuring data integrity.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor peers, share best practices, and act as a resource for colleagues to strengthen the overall team environment.
- Resource Identification: Anticipate member needs and connect them with internal or external resources, adding unexpected value whenever possible.
- Referral Management: Determine appropriate referrals to other programs or services, leveraging technology guidance when needed.
- Quality Assurance: Deliver a high‑quality member experience reflected in post‑contact surveys and direct feedback.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year experience advocating for, assisting, or resolving issues on behalf of members or customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable navigating computer‑based platforms.
- Ability to work the required schedule (9:45 am – 6:15 pm CST) and occasional overtime as business needs dictate.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- 1 + year experience with A4Me or at least 3 months of Quick Assist usage.
- Background in claims processing or health‑care benefits administration.
- Personal or professional experience caring for children with special needs.
- Experience in a member‑focused health‑care environment or similar service‑delivery roles (e.g., social services, caregiving, hospitality, non‑profit, sales).
- Demonstrated ability to de‑escalate challenging conversations and build trust quickly.
