Medical Transcriptionist, Independent Contractor

Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Transcriptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology but we will train the right person, especially if you have general transcription experience, editing experience, or general writing skills. The hours average 30-40 per week depending on the week, probably averaging around 35 hours per week over the course of a month. The work is very flexible. You can work from home and work whatever time of day you choose, as long as you get the work done by weeks end. However, it is preferred that you front load your work at the beginning and middle of the week and not at the end of the week. If you show real promise, at some point in the future, this job can lead to becoming the transcription manager, overseeing others and reviewing their work. That would be $28/hr. Ultimately, that is where I want it to end up, and you could get there fairly quickly. $20 an hour to start with the potential to get bumped up to $24 per hour if you meet efficiency and production thresholds. It might take you 2-6 months to get there. $28 if you show the ability to become the manager and oversee 1-2 other typists, but again this won't happen for at least 6-12 months if at all. It depends on how well you pick up the job. You need to be really good and have a really solid grasp on our process and protocols to get to this point . Responsibilities: - Review detailed medical reports checking them for accuracy and consistency. - Maintain patient confidentiality and data security - Edit transcribed reports for grammar and clarity Skills: - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is preferred but will train the right person - Ability to transcribe and type accurately - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week Benefits:
