About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and highly effective part-time Tech Recruiter to help Upscale AI hire exceptional engineering talent. The immediate focus is sourcing and engaging a great Senior Backend Engineer who is excited to work at an early-stage startup. In this role, you’ll own outbound sourcing, candidate outreach, initial screening, and pipeline management while working closely with the founders and engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outbound Engineering Sourcing: Identify and engage high-quality senior backend engineers through LinkedIn, Wellfound, Clay, referrals, and other sourcing channels. Build targeted candidate lists and maintain a strong pipeline of passive engineering talent.
  • Candidate Outreach: Craft personalized outreach that resonates with engineers who are excited by startup environments, technical ownership, and building from the ground up.
  • Initial Candidate Screening: Run introductory screens to evaluate technical background, startup readiness, ownership mindset, compensation alignment, and interest in Upscale AI.
  • Pipeline Management: Track candidate activity, follow-ups, feedback, and next steps to keep the hiring process organized and moving quickly.
  • Hiring Team Collaboration: Partner closely with founders and engineering leaders to refine target profiles, prioritize candidates, and improve sourcing strategy.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of technical recruiting or sourcing experience, ideally with backend, full-stack, infrastructure, or early engineering roles.
  • Startup Recruiting: Experience recruiting for startups or fast-moving technical teams where speed, ownership, and ambiguity are part of the environment.
  • Sourcing Skills: Strong ability to find high-quality passive candidates and build targeted sourcing lists using LinkedIn, Wellfound, Clay, or similar tools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written communication with the ability to craft compelling, personalized candidate outreach.
  • Organization & Ownership: Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing recruiting activity independently in a remote, part-time capacity.
