If you're looking for a career where your contributions truly matter and where your technical growth is actively supported, arenaflex is the place for you.

Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Data Engineering Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a central role in shaping the data architecture that powers our analytics capabilities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and Building Scalable Data Pipelines: Develop, maintain, and continuously improve large-scale data pipelines that support advanced analytics, business intelligence, and enterprise data technology solutions. You'll architect systems that handle both real-time streaming and offline batch processing workloads.
  • Identifying and Integrating Valuable Data Sources: Proactively identify high-value internal and external data assets, evaluate their quality and accessibility, and integrate them into our unified data ecosystem in a manner that adheres to best practices and governance standards.
  • Collaborating with Data Scientists and Analysts: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, define specifications, and shape the design, development, and deployment of new solutions that directly support enterprise priorities.
  • Developing Data Processing Software: Build and maintain software programs that process, store, and serve data to downstream consumers, including analytics teams, reporting platforms, and machine learning applications.
  • Building Information Systems and Pipelines: Engineer data systems and pipelines that organize, acquire, cleanse, and standardize data, enabling the generation of actionable insights and addressing diverse reporting needs across the organization.
  • Writing ETL Processes and Designing Database Structures: Write efficient Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) procedures, design robust database structures, and develop tools for both real-time and offline analytic processing.
  • Ensuring Pipeline Scalability, Repeatability, and Security: Develop data pipelines that are not only functional but also scalable, repeatable, secure, and well-documented to support long-term operational sustainability.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintaining Data Quality: Troubleshoot software programs and processes to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity. Integrate data from multiple sources while ensuring adherence to data best practices and accessibility standards.
  • Resolving Issues and Roadblocks: Effectively resolve technical and operational challenges as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to data flow and downstream analytics processes.
  • Communicating with Stakeholders: Interact with internal and external partners and managers to communicate semi-complex information related to assigned projects, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in data engineering; OR a Graduate Degree (Master's level) in a technical discipline.
  • Advanced SQL Proficiency: Demonstrated advanced understanding of SQL, including complex queries, optimization techniques, and database design principles.
  • Relationship Management Experience: Proven experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal partners (peers, business partners, and leadership) and external stakeholders (business community, customers, and vendors) within a matrix organization to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
  • Analytical Reporting Skills: Experience reading and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions, and using these insights to drive the development of results and identify solutions.
  • Willingness to Travel: Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes, including in-state and out-of-state engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

While not strictly required, the following qualifications will significantly strengthen your candidacy:

  • REST API Development: Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs to support data integration and service-oriented architectures.
