[Remote] Senior Analyst, ABL Field Exam

They are seeking a Senior Field Examiner to provide financial due diligence and auditing services, focusing on asset-based lending and collateral examination.

Responsibilities

  • Performs on-site engagements consisting of field examinations of prospect and existing asset-based borrower's collateral records and financial reports to determine / assess collateral values that secure loans to identify and highlights areas of collateral weakness, areas of potential exposure for the lender’s collateral, and to detect fraudulent activity
  • In addition to focusing on accounts receivable, inventory or other assets supporting the Borrowing Bases, the audits will include a review of books and records; analyses of accounts payable, bank statements, tax payments and filing status, insurance, sources, uses of cash and financial statement reviews that include other assets, other liabilities, and equity accounts
  • Effectively perform and document audit activities in accordance with professional standards and methodologies
  • Performs detail testing as defined by the field examination program to analyze and validate information
  • Evaluates accounting system controls and data integrity
  • Is able to efficiently use various software, client templates and data mining programs. Able to assist others in using software applications
  • Verifies that collateral is being reported and managed per the terms and conditions stipulated in the Loan Document
  • Documents findings/results of engagements; writes concisely and convincingly; provides constructive and sometimes critical feedback to staff both verbally and in writing; is a knowledge source for clients and staff; presents confidently in writing and verbally to others, highlighting areas of risk and exposure, material variances, conclusions reached from testing results, and related recommendations for improvement, if necessary
  • Understand procedures, results and business impacts; documents and expresses such understanding in both written and verbal form
  • Takes responsibility for the management of engagements including assigning tasks effectively; improves efficiency of the field exam process
  • Is able to manage the deliverable to the client from start to finish; serves as the primary client/borrower contact on engagements, providing exemplary customer service during and subsequent to the completion of engagements
  • Contributes to and promotes a positive environment to improve team effectiveness
  • Maintains a current professional development plan reflecting a commitment to self-development
  • Meets administrative reporting requirements

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, audit or finance or equivalent experience in finance, public accounting, or banking required
  • Minimum of 4 years prior experience in field exam, including knowledge of borrowing base lending, Asset Based Lending (ABL) or other forms of secured finance
  • Financial books and records or financial auditing experience required; forensic accounting/ financial due diligence experience helpful
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and Word is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • A high degree of integrity and business acumen

  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize tools, techniques and processes for research, data gathering and reporting

  • Knowledge of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements; familiarity with GAAP principles

  • Ability to travel is required to visit borrower locations within the U.S
  • Working knowledge of MS PowerPoint preferred
  • Forensic accounting/ financial due diligence experience helpful
