Java Software Engineer
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of a modernization framework and contribute to enhancements and sustainment of two existing business applications. This role is ideal for a developer with foundational J2EE and AI knowledge and who is eager to learn modern development practices, cloud concepts, and application transformation techniques. Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing and maintaining Java-based components within the modernization framework. Support refactoring efforts for legacy components under senior developer guidance. Participate in implementing APIs, integrations, and backend services. Write clean, maintainable code following defined coding standards. Assist in documenting technical requirements, system behaviors, and application architecture updates. Perform basic unit testing and assist with debugging activities. Collaborate with mid-level and senior developers during design sessions and sprint ceremonies. Qualifications 0 years with BS/BA; 4 years of experience with HS Diploma/equivalent. Able to obtain Public Trust clearance. Target Salary Range $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
