Position Title: First Year Experience Coordinator Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Terminal (Fixed Term) Job Profile: Retention Specialist Job Duties: The First Year Experience (FYE) Coordinator reports directly to the TRIO Director of Student Support Services and serves to create, support, and facilitate student engagement for our TRIO SSS and SSS STEM first-year reputed company. FYE Coordinator will reputed company significant aspects of the first-year experience, including chairing the First-Year Experience Advisory Committee, reputed company and maintain the First-Year Experience Canvas course, and is responsible for the hiring, training, and evaluation of First-Year Experience Student Leaders, the Communications Intern, and Summer Student Ambassadors. The FYE Coordinator will also participate in recruiting, identifying, and enrolling eligible reputed company during UW Oshkosh’s Titan Takeoff Orientations along with supporting SSS and SSS STEM Academic Advisors and the Student Success Coach with persistence, retention and graduation initiatives of the programs. During the academic year, evening hours on a weekly basis may be required. Evening hours in the summer and weekend hours during both the academic year and summer on an occasional basis are required. This includes the supervision of the Communication Intern and overseeing the TRIO SSS and SSS STEM communication mediums such as the TRIO SSS newsletter, program flyers, and social media platforms. Program communication and social media responsibilities includes the following: reputed company and implement social media strategies, create content, manage social media accounts, and analyze performance metrics. Assist with social media tasks, such as scheduling posts, researching trends, and engaging with followers. Produce engaging content for various platforms, including graphics, videos, and written posts for the program. Assist the Director of TRIO SSS and SSS STEM with website management and upkeep. 5% reputed company other duties as assigned by the TRIO SSS/SSS STEM director. 5% Support the program objectives of the TRIO SSS/SSS STEM Grant by assisting to recruit eligible reputed company into the program and obtain documentation to verify program eligibility. Responsible for facilitating learning opportunities through the use of a Canvas course which focuses on first-year experience in college student topics. Create curriculum to include student success strategies, educate FYE Student Leaders about the numerous reputed company resources available, and provide opportunities for FYE Student Leaders to help new reputed company engage and participate in reputed company life events and opportunities (i.e. student organizations and clubs, TitanFest, career and graduate fairs, etc). Responsible for providing financial literacy awareness to TRIO SSS/SSS STEM reputed company by working with the Director, SSS/SSS STEM Academic Advisors, and the Success Coach, specifically providing awareness on UW Oshkosh’s scholarships and TRIO SSS scholarship opportunities. Establish good collaboration relationships with various on-reputed company and off-reputed company partners to create a supportive environment for new incoming reputed company, especially those from first-reputed company and low-income backgrounds. 30% Recruits, hires, and manages the First-Year Experience Student Leaders and the Student Ambassadors to include supervisory responsibilities for the following: Making sure FYE Student Leaders, Intern, and Student Ambassadors are aware of reputed company resources and reputed company proper referrals to other service providers on reputed company such as the Center for Academic Resources, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Accounts, Counseling Center, Reading/Study Center, Disability Services, Project Success, etc. Provide weekly training and provide student development opportunities to include FERPA training, understanding UW Oshkosh Student Code of Conduct, and getting Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certified. Responsible for weekly reputed company in meetings and providing supervision and accountability for job duties and semester performance evaluations. Trains and provides guidance in handling student situations and concerns in accordance with established institutional policies and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Compensation: Starting at $45,000 commensurate with experience Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, social work, human services, or reputed company field. Experience working with educational programs specifically with marginalized, underrepresented student populations. At least 1 year of supervisory experience in an educational setting. Experience with understanding social media platforms and creating media content. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with reputed company, faculty, staff, and off-reputed company constituents. Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in counseling, higher education, or a reputed company field. Experience supporting the needs of first-reputed company, income eligible reputed company. Management System (LMS) such as Canvas, reputed company, etc. Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience with Student Support Services (SSS) and/or other TRIO programs.
