Key Responsibilities

Tailored Instruction: Design and deliver customized lesson plans that address the unique needs of each student with visual impairments, fostering their academic and personal growth. Virtual Teaching: Provide engaging virtual instruction across academic subjects and daily living skills, ensuring accessibility for all students. Resource Development: Create and adapt educational materials to meet the needs of visually impaired students, ensuring they can fully participate in their learning. Collaborative Support: Work closely with parents, teachers, and school staff to implement effective strategies that enhance student success. Progress Monitoring: Assess and track student progress, making data-driven adjustments to teaching methods to ensure continuous improvement. IEP Participation: Actively participate in virtual IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, contributing valuable insights to the development of student goals. Professional Development: Stay current with the latest tools, technologies, and methodologies for educating visually impaired students in a remote setting.

Qualifications

Educational Background: Master's degree in Education with a focus on Visual Impairments. Certification: Valid Illinois certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). Experience: Proven track record of teaching students with visual impairments, with remote teaching experience being a plus. Skills: Strong communication, organization, and the ability to engage and motivate students in a virtual classroom. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with assistive technology and virtual teaching platforms.
