Indonesian Madurese Transcriber/Translator
VoxCroft seeks 2-3 Indonesian Madurese speakers to transcribe several hours of Madurese audio/video data, translate the content into English, and add several metadata labels as tasked by the VoxCroft project manager. The selected linguists may also be required to conduct some research tasks as relevant to Madurese language media and Madurese linguistic conventions. Tasks will need to be completed between mid-December 2024 and late January 2025. Suitable applicants should possess the following skills and equipment: Native-level Madurese (speaking and writing) - prior experience in transcription will be advantageous; Fluent in English with high degree of accuracy in translating from Madurese to English; Experience in using subtitling software (SubtitleEdit or similar) Access to own laptop with a good internet connection and functioning speakers/headphones Interested candidates should provide the following information CV showing Evidence of transcription and translation experience Evidence of fluency in Madurese and English Cover letter containing rate for the following two tasks Transcription and translation rate per audio minute Hourly rate for consulting/research tasks.
