You will drive a tractor-trailer unit to and from customer locations and utilize Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to efficiently load and unload freight. This position involves a combination of driving and physical tasks, requiring a CDL license and HazMat endorsement, along with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service. The role is fast-paced and may require working various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. Job Duties and Responsibilities of CDL A Road Hauler: • Execute the processes of gathering, marking, loading, and delivering shipments using the specified equipment and following UPS guidelines. • Operate a tractor-trailer unit to deliver items to various client sites and return to the starting location within a single shift. • Utilize Material Handling Equipment (MHE), such as pallet jacks and stand-up forklifts, to assist in loading and unloading palletized cargo. • Implement the functions of moving, accepting, scanning, arranging, and replenishing shipments. • Ensure the secure and punctual transportation of goods to residential and commercial settings. • Make sure to observe safety guidelines when transporting items and handle packages securely. • Meet the UPS appearance expectations by wearing the designated uniform in compliance with the guidelines. • Perform lifting tasks of up to 70 lbs when necessary in the workplace. • Elevate the customer experience by ensuring deliveries are both timely and precise. • Adjust your hours, possibly on weekends, to meet the operational demands of the role.
